At 770 Bay St, Lumiere sits at the heart of Toronto’s Discovery District, home to Canada’s bio-medical and bio-tech research industries, responsible for producing $500 million worth of research annually. The District is also home to some of Toronto’s best shopping, along Yonge and Bloor Streets as well as at the Eaton’s Centre, and dining, particularly along Elm Street where diners can find delights such as Donatello for homestyle-Italian, Adega for incredible seafood and The Queen and Beaver Public House for gastro-pub fare. Other neighbourhood treats include the nearby Celtic Pogue Mahone pub on Bay and the Screen Lounge above Fran’s on College.
For residents who enjoy the outdoors or who have pets, Queen’s Park offers up some lovely green space and the beautiful and pet-friendly Allen Gardens lie less than a Kilometer away. In winter, nearby College Park hosts some outdoor fun in the form of an outdoor skating rink. Residents wishing to travel further afield have access to both the College streetcar and Yonge-University Spadina line from the historic College Station to the east and Queen’s Park Station to the west. Those with cars will also find it easy to navigate the city from Lumiere.
